How to Layer Niacinamide and Retinol the Right Way

Niacinamide and retinol are two of the most researched ingredients in skincare, and they work beautifully together when layered with intention.
Start with a gentle cleanse. On clean, dry skin, apply niacinamide first: it supports the barrier and helps calm the skin before retinol goes on.
Wait a minute, then apply a few drops of retinol at night only. Begin two to three evenings a week and increase as your skin adjusts.
Finish with a moisturizer to lock everything in, and always wear SPF the following morning. Retinol increases sun sensitivity.
If you notice dryness, alternate nights: niacinamide on one, retinol on the next. Consistency matters far more than intensity.
